People are so uninformed. My friends get to work at 6-7 am, they are there till 4-5 pm, they bring home papers to grade, the make lesson plans all summer long and on weekends. My teacher friends work more then most anyone else I know. They are very dedicated to educating the children. They work very hard to make as many of our youth useful well educated grown ups. I have chosen to home school my youngest, not because of the public school system, but because she has issues. I am lucky enough to have a group of friends whom are teachers and help my daughter on their off hours. Under worked, over paid!!! Whatever!! More to the side of over worked, under paid. yes, I agree there are some out there not as good as others. However, you get that in every profession. There are some doctors I would not go to, as well as some lawyers I would not employ. There are good police officers and some not so good. Should we say doctors, lawyers and police officers are all terible because of the few not so good?? Really?? I am very good friends with many teachers. People are so uninformed. All we are asking is that everyone pay an equal percentage for their benefits and that should include the super rich. Why not create a fund so whomever wants to contribute however much they want to this fund and put it towards reducing the Federal debt and state's debts. We have to do something to keep our state and country solvent. Unfortunately, it's the people who work hard who have to pay the way for those who don't work hard or have 'special' status like illegal immigrants. You are not the enemy; most of us truly respect teachers and all they do for our youth. Humor is a strong tool in getting a message across. I wasn't sure I was going to like the animated characters at first, but they worked very well.
